Fully Insured Members Transition to Electronic EOBs in July

Beginning in July, fully insured members with existing premera.com accounts and who currently receive paper explanation of benefits (EOBs) will transition to electronic EOBs. Self-funded groups will follow suit later this year, and members who have already opted to receive electronic EOBs will not be affected.
Members who create new premera.com accounts will default to electronic EOBs. Members will always have the option to switch back to paper EOBs.
Why we’re making this change
Enabling electronic EOBs provides a variety of benefits, including:
- Convenience: Electronic EOBs provide a faster and more efficient way of accessing benefit information.
- Secure communication: Electronic EOBs can be accessed only through a secure member account.
- Environmentally friendly: Reducing paper usage contributes to a greener planet.
