Premera Sunsets myCare Alaska Virtual Care Offering

In 2020, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska started myCare Alaska, powered by CirrusMD, as part of the virtual care experience at Premera. myCare Alaska offered members an option to text with a provider to receive health care virtually.

Effective January 1, 2025, myCare Alaska will no longer be available because of low utilization.

Premera members will have a more streamlined experience with access to Doctor on Demand. Doctor on Demand offers video and phone visits for primary, urgent, and mental health care.

Members who have used myCare Alaska will be contacted 60 days prior to its sunset and will be provided with details on transitioning to Doctor on Demand or finding other care solutions that meet their needs.

Doctor on Demand is available through the Premera MyCare app or can be downloaded directly from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). You can also get more information about the available Premera mobile apps online at premera.com/visitor/go-mobile.
